The SGA is committed to creating environmental sustainability efforts and initiatives on campus and collaborate year round to design and implement new projects, campaigns and services that are mutually beneficial to the environment and the Laurentian community. We communicate regularly with the Laurentian University Environmental Sustainability Committee as well as other groups on campus like Food Services, Facilities Services and Information Technology. Currently, we are designing more projects around sustainable energy and implementing local food and growing options on campus. In previous years, we have collaborated to implement more composting across campus, add more water bottle refill stations, maintain and upgrade recreational trails and planting trees.

We have a small committee at the SGA that currently has student seats available. We will be providing more information on how to be involved. We are also always open to hearing ideas on how to make our campus more green. Please reach out to us at anytime at sga@laurentian.ca if you wish to be involved or share an idea. The more of us working toward this goal, the better.
