AVP of Policy and Student Support.

About the AVP of Policy and Student Support

Hello! I’m Polina and I’m incredibly excited to take on the responsibility of being AVP of Policy and Student Support. As the new AVP, my role is to support students by fighting for change, providing students with resources, and ensuring that students both on and off campus have their needs met.

I’ve always believed in the phrase “You miss every opportunity you don’t take.” I want students to know that even if it’s scary, or if you don’t think you can do it, try anyways. It’s rare that opportunities just happen to come your way; you usually need to go out and find them. So next time an opportunity comes your way, take it! By taking on new, and often intimidating,
opportunities, I’ve learned just how much I love policy, sparking a passion to support students in every way possible.

I’ve previously worked at the SGA V-Desk and know firsthand just how important student support is. Taking on this new role, I will continue to support students but also push for student rights, improve and promote the Benefits Plan, and coordinate advocacy events and workshops for students to explore.

As a team, the SGA’s goal is to ensure students feel safe, heard, supported and to make their student life fun! University is such a crazy chapter in life and I hope it is one students can look back on fondly. Like many students, I’m racing between classes, deadlines, and meetings, but please, feel free to stop me in the halls (or on a hiking trail) and ask questions, give suggestions, or even just chat. I’m a friendly face and it is with your ideas and voices that we can truly make a positive
change.
